What is the importance of being recognized by CMAA?

“CMAA is the top association in the club industry. The best managers from around the country belong and are highly active– they look at which student chapters perform well. The fact that CMAA recognized FDU as Student Chapter of the Year means these top managers see FDU as a place that produces the club managers of the future. I am so proud of all our members that made this happen. I am also forever grateful to Professor Kane Pappas, our Advisor; James Creamer, our Student Chapter Liaison; Professor Ryan Brennan, our club management professor; and to the entire New Jersey Chapter for supporting our awesome student chapter.” C.J Milano, President, FDU CMAA Student Chapter.

“The importance of being recognized by CMAA is a true testament to all the hard work and dedication our chapter has put in over the last couple of years. When our chapter first started out, we were small, but with the growth, we have experienced recently, we are making the FDU Student Chapter known! Being recognized by CMAA National is a huge accomplishment and we are thankful to have won Student Small Chapter of the Year.” – Emily Berkowitz, Vice President of Operations, FDU CMAA Student Chapter.

New Jersey Club Management Association

Our student chapter has been fortunate to participate in numerous New Jersey Club Management Association (NJCMA) sponsored events that provide experiential learning opportunities for our students. We kicked off the school year by volunteering at the New Jersey Club Foundation’s Annual Golf Outing held at Canoe Brook Country Club. During the fall semester, student chapter members attended Memberfest at Upper Montclair Country Club, NJCMA’s Annual Meeting at Manasquan River Golf Club and the chapter visited Beacon Hill Club and Mountain Ridge Club for a field trip.

“We are extremely thankful for the professional development opportunities provided by CMAA and NJCMA. Students in CMAA are extremely passionate about the hospitality industry and it is an honor to mentor them and see them grow as young professionals,” said Kane Pappas, Faculty Advisor.
